The Origin Story
WHO IS Steph Kovac?
For the past 12 years, Steph has owned and operated a six-figure pet sitting business in Peachtree Corners, Georgia and surrounding areas. As a wildlife biologist and herpetologist by education, Steph never wastes an opportunity to enlighten people to the natural world around them.
She has volunteered and given to various local and national pet and wildlife organizations, such as Furkids, PAWS Atlanta, Friends to the Forlorn Pit Bull Rescue, and The Nature Conservancy, including running her own organization to help people feed a raw diet to their dogs.
She has helped hundreds of people feed their dogs a species appropriate diet on a budget and is passionate about helping as many dogs (and cats!) as possible live longer, healthier lives through natural rearing methods that boost their natural immunity.
Helping pet parents give the gift of robust health and natural immunity to their dogs.

The Early Years
Steph has always been an animal lover. Her first stuffed animal was waiting for her in her crib - a Winnie the Pooh Bear (which she still has, but it now looks a little rough). Many more stuffed animal friends arrived over the years. And she had every My Little Pony and the original four Care Bears, but only three Barbie dolls.
Never has Steph been without a dog. In addition, gerbils and betta fish occupied her home in grade school - she bred the gerbils and sold them to pet stores (an entrepreneur at heart!). She was the girl at every party who could be found wherever the host's animals were.
She even adopted an orb weaver spider that made its web in the swingset in the backyard. Steph would go out back every day after school and catch grasshoppers and crickets to throw in the web and watch the spider wrap them up and drain them (she was a strange child, lol).
In junior high and high school, Steph took up competitive singing and won many titles with the A capella choir as well as 1st place medals in the Solo and Ensemble competition every year for her solo performances.
In college, she fell in love with reptiles and amphibians. It started with a herpetology class and a pet iguana named Ivana. Soon, she had several snakes, lizards, and frogs, which she cared for in between classes.
Career
This fascination with and passion for animals led to a career in wildlife biology. After graduating, Steph spent a few years beefing up her resume with contract wildlife jobs: studying birds and chasing snakes, lizards, alligators and the like, and even going as far as earning a Masters degree in Biology.
Her love of singing led her to a gig as the lead singer of a cover band in Atlanta for a couple of years, and she practiced and performed in her spare time as a hobby.
Steph later became immersed in the corporate world, working as an environmental consultant for 12 years. But upon realizing that she didn't want a desk job for the rest of her life and wanted to work for herself, she left corporate and set out to work with animals as an animal massage practitioner. She added pet sitting and dog walking to her company's list of services after a couple of years and quickly turned it into a thriving six-figure pet sitting business.
Recently, she has been on a mission to help people convert their dogs into powerhouses of health and immunity through homeopathic, natural and unconventional methods. After seeing the immense benefits in her own animals, she is determined to make it a reality for all pet owners. It is her ultimate passion project!
Zen Dog Pet Care
Zen Dog started as a daydream. Steph would sit at her corporate job, dreaming about doing something working with animals, which was her true calling. Once she realized that animal massage was a thing, she jumped in with both feet!
Cutting back to part time as an environmental consultant, she would walk client dogs during her lunch break and do pet visits and massages whenever she was not working her desk job. Only a year later, she was too busy to continue with corporate and was able to leave to grow her business full time.
Since then, she has had a thriving, 5-star pet care business with hundreds of happy clients and furry friends in Peachtree Corners, Georgia and surrounding areas.
